How to open embedded files while in Powerpoint presentation Slideshow
Problem:
I have seen lots of embedded files in PowerPoint presentations. The
problem is that every time I see someone "opening" an embedded file, the
person has to go out of Show Mode (i.e. clicking Escape), back into Edit Mode
and only then the person can double-click the Icon of the embedded file, so
that it opens.
Solution:
Right click the inserted file, choose Action Settings.
Or, in 2007, click once on the inserted file, go to Insert, click Action.
In the Mouse Click tab of the dialog box, choose Object Action.
Open will probably be the only available choice in the dropdown.
Click OK.
The file should now open when clicked in Slide Show view, leaving the PPT show
open behind it.
