Restore and Reset File Association in Windows

1.) Launch regedit
2.) Navigate to the following registry branch:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\FileExts\[ext]
3.) Delete the corrupted key

Remove Internet Security 2010

It infects the system and claims itself to be an antivirus software and claims the system is infected.

it is active even in Safe Mode and even after disabling all Startup Items and Services.

 

CMD, Regedit, Taskmgr all cannot run

 

Internet Security 2010 keeps on appearing and system is not usable.

 

Steps taken to cure:

1.)    Enter safe mode

2.)    Run msconfig

3.)    Disable all startup items

4.)    Hide MS services and disable all services (forget about enabling Symantec services as it should be damaged)

5.)    Restart and enter safe mode again

6.)    Take note not to run CMD, Regedit, Taskmgr!!! This will launch Internet Security 2010 again

7.)    Run system restore. Take note not to click the OK button when the error says This file is infected!!! (clicking OK will launch Internet Security 2010 again)

8.)    Move the error away, run system restore again and restore to an earlier state

9.)    Internet Security 2010 gotten rid right now

10.) Installed AVG, update, full scan

11.) Installed Windows SP3

12.) Installed all Windows Updates
