Focus on the Process, NOT the Outcome; The Outcome WILL take care of itself

I recalled I took part in NSC, which now is called WSS, twice. Both times, Edgar Tham was invited to do workshops on setting the goal. By the way, for those who do not know who Edgar Tham is, here goes:

From http://www.sport-psych.com/:
Edgar was the team consultant and travelling psychologist to numerous national teams preparing for the SEA Games, Asian Games, Commonwealth Games, Olympic Games, Paralympic Games and World Championships since 1993. He was the Consultant Psychologist to the Singapore Team that competed in the 2005 World Skills Competition in Finland, Helsinki, and to several national athletes in preparation for the Southeast Asian (SEA) Games in November 2005 and the Commonwealth Games in March 2006.

I remembered in his goal settings and achieving goal workshops, he talked about "Focus on the Process, NOT the Outcome; The Outcome WILL take care of itself". With this concept, you break down your goals into Process Goals, and Outcome Goals. This means in order to reach the target, you do not worry about the target, but rather worry about and work on the steps required to achieve it!

Many things in my life I managed to get where I want with this mentality. Many things I'm still trying to achieve...

Can you do it? YES! You can! Because, it's all in your mind. Believe in yourself!
